Grid Maintenance - November 2018

Dear Compute Grid User,

This is a reminder that the next monthly Compute Grid maintenance is scheduled for Monday, November 5th, from 8am until 12pm.

How will this affect you?

  • All sessions to the login nodes will be terminated, including terminal and NoMachine sessions
  • All interactive sessions/jobs will be terminated
  • You will not be able to login to the Compute Grid
  • You will not be able to use NoMachine

The actual work being performed is:

Current Environment

    • The terminal and NoMachine login nodes will be rebooted
    • Interactive sessions will be killed
    • Stata will be renewed for usage through 2019

Grid 2.5

    • Stata will be renewed for usage through 2019

New Compute Grid (v2.5) Notice:

Please watch your email Inbox for an announcement on the arrival of Grid 2.5, which will affect the operation of the current compute grid. We'll detail in an email next week the benefits of the new system, the transition and cutover period, and how this will affect the way you work.

Upcoming training opportunities:

11/27 Compute Grid Training - Attendance is now required for both HBS and guest account compute users within two months of obtaining a grid account. If you have not attended a training yet, register for the next session on Tuesday, 11/27 at https://training.rcs.hbs.org/event/compute-grid-training-14. For guest users, please contact research@hbs.edu to register.
