New Git LFS feature on the Grid

April 18, 2018
Large Files Support (LFS) is now available for Git on the Compute Grid

For those who use the version control tool Git, we are happy to announce the that Git LFS plugin (Large File System) is now available for use. This plugin allows you to store large files in your repo AND push them to remote hosts that supports LFS, like GitHub.com. On GitHub.com, without LFS, warnings are given when pushing files larger than 50 MB, and blocked if larger than 100 MB. Pushed files are limited to 2 GB max.

For more information on Git LFS see https://git-lfs.github.com/. For information specific to LFS & GitHub, see https://help.github.com/categories/managing-large-files/
